The International LGBT Atlas is a study composed of two main elements: 1) a survey gathering quantitative data on the experiences of LGBT individuals and 2) an interview that captures the more human aspects of life experiences that can’t be captured in a survey.
Currently, the experiences of LGBT individuals across the world are measured by existing laws and anecdotal evidence. Various surveys exist across countries to gain quantitative data, however, there is no comprehensive tool being used to compare the experiences of individuals across every single country in the world.
This study aims to allow for a comparative analysis of the LGBT experience across the world based on both quantitative and qualitative data. It will provide a standard measurement applicable to all countries and cultures that attempts to capture the intricate complexities of discrimination in each context.
